SEOUL: CJ E&M is on board for three 12-episode seasons of The Three Musketeers, a new drama for tvN set in 17th century Korea, inspired by the classic Alexandre Dumas novel.

The team behind the show includes screenwriter Song Jae-jung and director Kim Byung-soo, who previously worked on the Korean drama hit Nine: 9 Times Time Travel. The show is set against the backdrop of the Joseon Dynasty. The cast includes Jung Yong-hwa, a member of popular K-Pop band CNBLUE, and Nine star Lee Jin-wook.

CJ E&M will begin filming The Three Musketeers this month for launch in a Sunday night slot in August.
