iflix Eyes International Expansion with New Hires

KUALA LUMPUR: iflix has appointed a trio of execs to its senior management team as the internet TV service looks to expand its presence into new markets outside of Southeast Asia.

Christian Toksvig has been named head of international business development and will help drive strategic partnerships with telecom operators across Asia, the Middle East and Africa. He previously served as CEO of StockUnlimited and head of international business development at Getty Images.

Nader Sobhan has become iflix’s head of the Middle East and North Africa, charged with leading the company’s expansion in the region. He previously founded Iktomi, which has operations in Dubai, Barcelona and Bangkok. He also led the strategic planning of the digital directorate at MBC.

Andre De Wet has been hired as iflix’s head of Africa. He is expected to help drive the company’s success in the continent. Prior to this appointment, he served as the CEO of African e-commerce site PriceCheck.
