GEM in Talent Search for Nippon TV’s I Can Sing in Japanese!

SINGAPORE: The Asian entertainment channel GEM is hosting an online call for talented singers, the winner of which will take part in Nippon TV’s competition show I Can Sing in Japanese!

The show is a platform for aspiring non-Japanese singers to showcase their talent of singing in Japanese on a national stage. GEM’s online competition is open to all aspiring singers living in Asia, who are invited to submit a video showcasing their ability to sing in Japanese either as individuals or as a group. A panel of professional judges will then select one winner to participate in the upcoming season of I Can Sing in Japanese! in Tokyo.

Virginia Lim, the senior VP and head of content, production and marketing at Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia, said: “Continuing our tradition of offering the best of Japan’s entertainment to audiences in Asia, we are elated to give viewers in the region the opportunity to be more involved, be it as a participant or as a supporter of their country’s representative. We are looking forward to seeing the talent that Asia has to offer.”
