SINGAPORE: Syfy is working with Malaysia's Kechara Media & Publications on the production of season three of The Paranormal Zone.

The reality-based series marks the network's first-ever Asian co-production. The project is set to begin filming in early 2015. Season one of The Paranormal Zone will debut on Syfy Asia on September 29. The show is hosted by Phng Li Kim, who provides insight from mythical and scientific perspectives on unexplained phenomena lurking within Asia.

“Syfy is all about science fiction, supernatural entertainment—it appeals to audiences here because there is no other channel focused on this fan base,” said Christine Fellowes, the managing director for the Asia Pacific at NBCUniversal Channels. “The Paranormal Zone is a perfect fit for our channel’s audience and we are committed to further expand this genre with local stories.”
