BIG CBS Channels Expand into Sri Lanka

MUMBAI: BIG CBS Prime, BIG CBS Love and BIG CBS Spark are set to launch in Sri Lanka, with an English-language feed for each channel available across cable platforms and in key hotels.

Initially, the channels will be available through Lanka Broadband Network, with plans to soon launch across all platforms in the region, which includes Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan and Afghanistan. BIG CBS Networks, a joint venture of Reliance Broadcast Network and CBS Studios International, will also look into the possibility of dubbing the content in local languages in the future.

Vishal Rally, the business head at BIG CBS Networks, said, “This is a natural extension to make accessible the superlative content library of BIG CBS to audiences in the international markets. With audience demographics similar to those of urban India, we are confident of the Channels doing exceedingly well. As a business model, this is a cost neutral expansion enhancing the JV’s profitability.”
