SINGAPORE: Indie production company Beach House Pictures (BHP) has expanded its in-house team, making international hires on the heels of several series greenlights.

Tim Franklin was named the new head of production, joining BHP from the U.K. He has more than three decades of experience in content production as a senior production manager, director and line producer across a variety of different genres. In his new role, Franklin is responsible for overseeing the production management team and the smooth day-to-day running of all ongoing projects across the company’s four divisions.

He’ll be joined by fellow Briton Justina Wright, who comes on board as the senior production manager. Before joining BHP, Wright was the senior production producer and talent manager with DStv in South Africa. BHP has also added two senior producers to its creative and development team. Industry vet Chiara Bellati will serve as the company’s natural history/specialist factual series producer, where she will oversee BHP’s latest wildlife productions while developing new content, particularly for the U.K. and international markets. Meanwhile, fellow series producer Caroline Allward will manage a new original series on Singapore’s Changi Airport, slated to air in 2016.

BHP has also promoted Tay Sook Hoon, formerly senior production manager, to head of post-production. In her new role, the exec will be in charge of operations at BHP’s post facilities as well as leading the growing post-production team.

“Our strategy is to not just bring in new talent but also develop and provide new opportunities for the current team,” said Donovan Chan, the creative director for BHP. “The best players love being part of a top team. That’s one big reason to keep going the extra mile as a company and attract and groom the best talents in the business.”

Jocelyn Little, the managing director for BHP, said, “We are in the thick of another busy year with a dozen productions already greenlit. Our team has grown by 35 percent in the past ten months and we’re incredibly excited to have brought in such gifted individuals to enhance our award-winning team and take up the challenge of producing BHP’s diverse slate of programming.”
