Online platform iflix has entered into a multiyear alliance with Indonesian studio Screenplay Films as it looks to ramp up its original content offerings.

Screenplay is set to make several originals for iflix, beginning with Magic Hour. The eight-episode teen romance will serve as a sequel to the 2015 feature film of the same name. The movie’s leads, Dimas Anggara and Michelle Ziudith, have reprised their roles in the drama, which is set to launch in December.

“At iflix, we’re passionate about our local customers and committed to providing them with an exceptional world-class service and experience,” said Mark Britt co-founder and group CEO of iflix. “This strengthening of our collaboration with Screenplay Films is proof of that commitment. Indonesia is Asia’s fastest growing and most competitive television market. We’re thrilled to be working with, and supporting, top-tier talent and innovative content creators here to offer iflix users the very best in local, regional and international entertainment.”

Screenplay Films COO and founder, Wicky V. Olindo, added, “We are thrilled about our multi-year partnership with iflix and the opportunity to share our artistic vision and talents with regional and international audiences unlike ever before. We are eager to support iflix’s ambitious content strategy with compelling storytelling and high-value productions.”
