SET Revamped as Sony Channel

SINGAPORE: Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia is refreshing Sony Entertainment Television (SET) in Southeast Asia and beTV in the Philippines, which are being rebranded as Sony Channel.

Sony Channel will debut October 15 as the premier destination for female-skewing Hollywood entertainment. It will feature such programs as How to Get Away with Murder, as well as Madam Secretary, Manhattan Love Story and Jane the Virgin. These will join popular series such as The Night Shift and Nashville.

“We believe there is an opportunity in the market for a general entertainment destination that is female focused, but also male inclusive. These four new series are smart, edgy and driven by strong women—a perfect fit for the new Sony Channel brand,” said Hui Keng Ang, the senior VP and general manager of networks for Asia at Sony Pictures Television.
