Event Preview: FILMART

HONG KONG: Among the highlights at FILMART 2014, taking place in Hong Kong from March 24 to 27, is TV World, featuring screenings, networking and other activities around the theme of Asian reality shows.

Around 760 exhibitors from some 30 markets will be attending FILMART, the annual film and TV event in Hong Kong.

TV World at FILMART is now in its eighth edition. It is expecting more than 260 exhibitors, including Public Television Service from Taiwan, Fuji Television Network and TBS from Japan and GMA from the Philippines. In addition, the Hong Kong Televisioners Association (HKTA) will organize a workshop on producing serialized drama.

FILMART will also feature new pavilions from Russia and China and returning ones from Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, the U.S., U.K. and more.

Organizers of the event also highlight the strong new-media contingent, with some 170 digital entertainment companies participating.

There will also be screenings and conference sessions on subjects like monetizing online media and the challenges and opportunities in Asian film today.
