SINGAPORE: MyChinaChannel has appointed Wayne Chou as its new CEO and Terry Mak as COO as it gears up to launch its own premium linear and new-media channels.

Chou and Mak will work together with Melvin Ang, the founder and executive director of MyChinaChannel, to accelerate the plan of having more channels in additional markets. Chou is currently a board member of the financial committee for the Media Development Authority (MDA) in Singapore and a board member of QJY Media Services. Mak previously served as an independent consultant for the Astro Group and held senior management roles at Celestial Pictures and TVBI Company.

Ang commented, “MCC has been focusing on building strategic partnership with media companies and sourcing quality and relevant content in China for the past three years. With both Wayne and Terry on board, we have a strong management team with diverse expertise relevant to the media industry and are ready to step up our business plans aggressively targeting the ‘Outside China’ markets.”

Chou said, "I am excited to have this opportunity to work with a team of very capable and seasoned media executives in the most exciting region of the world. I look forward to working with the great team at MCC and build upon our solid position to launch more popular channels across the region and further accelerate growth"

Mak added, "Despite the fact that quality of China originated content has come a long way in recent years, few media companies have managed to put them together in a way that can generate international awareness. MCC is keen to create a brand that can be well recognized globally. Going forward, my expertise in handling international content distribution will help me bring quality Chinese content to the viewers around the world."
