TV5MONDE Preps French-Language Web Service for Kids

PARIS: The global French-language broadcaster TV5MONDE is launching an online entertainment and educational service for kids aged 3 to 12.

TiVi5MONDE PLUS will be available for free around the world. It is being billed as the first worldwide French-language online platform for children. It aims to provide both French-speaking families and Francophiles keen to introduce their children to French with high-quality children’s programs in a safe environment. Content has been selected by TV5MONDE, working closely with its partner broadcasters France Télévisions, Radio-Canada, RTBF, Télé-Québec and TSR. 

In animated fare, the lineup includes Cédric, Pat and Stan, Titeuf, Inami, Sam Sam, Spirou & Fantasio and Raymond; the general entertainment slate encompasses Les p’tits amateurs, Neurones, Blabla, Le broco show, Les aventures de Wambi and Déjà vu…; educational programs on offer include Une minute au musée, Les petits citoyens and Merci professeur; while in terms of daily news, the destination will feature Les Niouzz. To celebrate the launch, TiVi5MONDE PLUS will be running Kirikou et la sorcière, a French-language feature-length animated film that is accessible for the first time via the Internet.
