TV Land Orders More Happily Divorced

NEW YORK: The TV Land original sitcom Happily Divorced, starring and co-written by Fran Drescher, is to return for a second season with 12 new episodes.

The second season is tentatively scheduled for spring 2012. The show’s first season on TV Land is averaging more than 2.2 million total viewers, posting triple-digit gains over the network’s prime-time average.

"We are thrilled that our viewers have embraced Happily Divorced just like they did with Hot in Cleveland," said Larry W. Jones, the president of TV Land. "It’s fantastic that we get to keep working with Fran, this amazing cast and all of the talented writers on another season."

Keith Cox, the executive VP of development and original programming at TV Land, added, "Happily Divorced really resonated with our audience and we can’t wait to see what new plot twists are in store for next season."
