TV Land Casts Female Leads for Sitcom Pilot

NEW YORK: Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick have been cast to star as best friends in the TV Land sitcom pilot Hot in Cleveland. 

Betty White has also been cast in the comedy pilot as a recurring guest star. Hot in Cleveland is written by Suzanne Martin (Frasier, Ellen) and is produced by Sean Hayes’ Hazy Mills Productions. The comedy will follow three L.A. women whose lives are changed forever when their plane unexpectedly lands in Cleveland and they wind up living under one roof. Bertinelli is best known for her role as Barbara Jean Cooper on One Day At a Time, and she is most recently a Jenny Craig weight-loss spokesperson. Leeves starred in the NBC comedy Frasier for 11 seasons. Malick portrayed fashion editor Nina Van Horn in the NBC ensemble comedy Just Shoot Me.
