TV Globo Renews Paramount, Fox Deals

RIO DE JANEIRO: TV Globo has renewed its deals with Paramount Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution for the rights to theatrical features.

Globo and Paramount have extended their pact for another six years, granting Rede Globo the exclusive transmission rights on Brazilian broadcast television for various box-office hits theatrically released between 2010 and 2015. The slate from this year includes Paramount’s Shutter Island, Up In The Air and The Last Airbender and DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek Forever After and How To Train Your Dragon, among others. The broadcaster will also secure the rights to Marvel’s Iron Man 2.

The Globo/Fox deal has been extended for another three years, encompassing the rights to Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, What Happens in Vegas, Jumper, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Night At The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, among others.
