TV Globo Productions to Air in HD in South Korea

SÃO PAULO: The South Korean channel Tele-Novela HD is the first ever to air programs from TV Globo in high definition.

The channel will broadcast Globo mini-series like Maysa: When the Heart Sings; series such as Starting Over Again, Sound and Fury and Internal Affairs; the telenovelas The Favorite, Two Faces and India: A Love Story; and Carnaval. All programs have been subtitled in Korean. Tele-Novela has around 500,000 subscribers for its HD service, and 2 million for its standard-definition channel.

"To offer programmers content in high-definition is the natural evolution of our business," said Raphael Corrêa Netto, the director of sales at Globo TV International. "We know that now, apart from the already recognized quality of our stories, we have another competitive difference. We are optimistic with the prospective of reaching new markets."
