TV Globo Portugal Launches

RIO DE JANEIRO, October 2: TV Globo has launched in Portugal
on TV Cabo, with a free preview for the whole month of October for subscribers
of TV Cabo’s digital services.

From November onwards, TV Globo Portugal will take on its
status as a premium à la carte channel. With this launch, TV Cabo now offers 94
channels. TV Globo Portugal will be transmitted 24 hours a day through satellite
and cable with digital quality, all in Portuguese.

The programming schedule will consist of TV Globo and
Globosat programs and will offer mini-series, telenovelas, documentaries,
series, news, sports, children’s programs, talk shows, music and comedy. The
lineup includes Toma Lá Dá Cá,
Estrelas, Saia Justa, Superbonita, Esporte Espetacular and Por Trás da Fama.

stated Ricardo Scalamandré, the director of the international division at TV
Globo. “For 30 years we have had the privilege of being present in the lives of
thousands of Portuguese viewers, through our productions. Now, we have composed
a grid from our international channel especially for the Portuguese subscribers
which will be different from the grid currently available for the other
European countries. This demonstrates the respect and care Globo has for the
Portuguese market.”
