The TV Foundation Launches Four Career Programs

The TV Foundation has opened its Visionaries, Changemakers, The Network and TV PhD career development programs for applications.

The Visionaries program will champion and connect 25 of TV’s best and brightest to develop their careers. Participants will have the chance to develop professionally and personally, with exclusive sessions at Edinburgh TV Festival, including pitching to Channel 4’s Random Acts, as well as access to year-round events, individual coaching and a growing community of like-minded people. There will be five ReConnect spaces on the Visionaries program reserved for individuals who are returning to the TV industry after time away for any reason.

The third edition of Changemakers is now accepting applications from anyone in a leadership position with an interest in bringing more climate content to the screen. The program is looking for TV professionals with a passion for making TV that matters. The final ten Changemakers will take part in a series of workshops throughout the year to connect them with the latest climate leadership ideas and research. They will also get a free pass and accommodation at the 2026 Edinburgh TV Festival.

The Network is open for anyone, whatever their age, who wants to start a career in television. The program is designed to open doors for people who wouldn’t otherwise find it easy to get their start in TV. The final 25 delegates will have access to exclusive sessions, masterclasses and workshops led by industry professionals at the 2026 Edinburgh TV Festival. They will also receive a year of industry mentoring and access to a community of TV professionals.

TV PhD is returning in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC). Fifteen current AHRC-funded PhD students who have a passion for television will have the opportunity to explore all the ways that their academic skills and ideas can add value to the TV industry. The final cohort will receive a free pass and accommodation to the 2026 Edinburgh TV Festival. They will also have a chance to pitch their idea directly to television producers, and one will be selected to work with a production team.

The deadline for applications for all four programs is March 26.
