TV Azteca Releases Q4 Results

MEXICO CITY, February 22: TV Azteca’s fourth-quarter
revenues were up by 3 percent to Ps.2.6 billion ($237.1 million), with net
income soaring to Ps.692 million ($63.1 million) from Ps.93 million ($8.5
million), a 646 percent change.

At Azteca America, Q4 revenues rose 20 percent to Ps.118
million ($10.8 million). TV Azteca’s programming sales revenues, however, were
flat at Ps.22 million ($2 million).

For the full year, total revenues climbed 8 percent to
Ps.9.6 billion ($872.9 million), while profit was up 71 percent to Ps.2.2
billion ($197.6 million)

Mario San Roman, the CEO of TV Azteca, commented,
"Higher sales during the year resulted from the success of our programming
grids in Mexico, further improvement of the revenue coming from the U.S.
Hispanic market, and advertising related to extraordinary events; the cost
control derived from the close scrutiny of each one of our outlays."

San Roman continued, "Programming initiatives focused
on audiences that constitute the target markets of our advertisers became
optimal tools for the clients ad campaigns, and had a positive effect on
domestic sales. In addition, increasingly competitive programming grids in
Azteca America boosted advertising demand in significant time slots, generating
once more outstanding sales growth for the network."
