TuTv Networks Get Expanded Carriage on RCN

LOS ANGELES: TuTv, a joint venture between Univision Communications and Televisa, has secured additional carriage for its networks Bandamax and De Película Clásico with RCN.

Bandamax, dedicated to the Latin music of regional Mexico, and De Película Clásico, a classic movie channel, have been added to RCN’s lineup in New York City, Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C., Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley, PA. This brings the total to five TuTV networks—De Película, De Película Clásico, Telehit, Ritmoson Latino and Bandamax—available on RCN.

"We are delighted to partner with RCN to offer Spanish-language subscribers the original, high-quality programming available only on the TuTv networks," said Chris Fager, the president of TuTv. "TuTv has the unique ability to combine marketing expertise with the viewer demand generated by the five channels’ extensive distribution and solid ratings in Latin America. With this new programming RCN will be well positioned to attract new Latino digital subscribers."

“Adding Bandamax and De Película Clásico to our MiVisión and El Paquetón packages was a strategic decision,” added Richard Ramlall, RCN’s senior VP of strategic external affairs and programming. “The channels have solid brand awareness amongst our viewers and offer high-quality, unique content. We are committed to offering the best product to our Hispanic subscribers, and the TuTv channels offer just that.”
