Turner Ramps Up Indian Operations

DELHI, May 30: Ahead of
launching two new entertainment networks in India, Turner International has
announced the promotions of Siddharth Jain and Monica Tata in its South Asian
business.

In his new role as the VP
and deputy general manager of distribution and business operations in South
Asia, Jain assumes additional responsibilities to guide Turner channels into
the digital era. He will play a key role in the
launch of two new channels in 2008: the Hindi general-entertainment channel in
joint venture with Alva Brothers, and the Hollywood movies and series channel
in partnership with Warner Bros. Jain will continue to drive and manage the
distribution for Turner Networks. He has been with Turner since November 1998.

Meanwhile,
Tata as VP and deputy
general manager of entertainment networks in South Asia, will now drive all entertainment network
initiatives and activities in South Asia, which includes
supervision and development of Turner’s kids business, encompassing Cartoon
Network, POGO, Sesame India, original productions and animated theatrical
features. She will also be responsible for enhancing the English-language
entertainment business (HBO and the Hollywood movies and series channel in
partnership with Warner Bros.), the development of the Hindi
general-entertainment channel in joint venture with Alva Brothers, and other
new initiatives.

Furthermore,
Rohit Suri, who has been with Turner since May 2005 has been promoted to
executive director of human resources.
