Turner Announces Lineup for Nuts TV

LONDON, September 4: Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) Europe
will launch Nuts TV on Britain’s Freeview channel 42 on September 12, offering
comedic live and originally produced content for young male viewers.

Inspired by IPC’s men’s weekly magazine, the channel will
air live coverage of the most topical stories of the day, serving those viewers
who like their news and entertainment fast and funny. Nuts TV will feature top
comedians and members of the public tapping into the core elements of
entertainment, including sports, gadgets, cars, music, comedy, news and girls.
Notable channel presenters include Dan Wright, Steve Marsh, Zoe Hardman, Lynsey
Horn, OJ Borg and Geoff Norcott.

The live programming kicks off at 9 p.m. every evening with Rude
News
, a daily digest of the least important
global stories of the day, while the twice-nightly sports news show Fanzai offers up comedy to the sporting arena. The evening
slate is rounded out by the show Book at Bedtime, where Lucy Pinder reads excerpts from Shakespeare
and HG Wells to the viewers.

Daily panel shows include Gender Bender, where three men and three women face off to prove
who knows more about the opposite sex; North vs. South, which pits northern grit against southern wit; and
three men will vie for the chance to give their phone number to Miss England,
Miss Liverpool and Miss Glasgow in Will Beauty Call?.

Each week Nuts TV will air live music, celebrity interviews
and plenty of competitions, including the great hot tub giveaway. Among the
first confirmed guests are musician Jack Just and actor/comedian Paul Kaye.
Additional programming highlights include Fit and Fearless, where spirit medium Ian Lawman travels with young
women across the U.K. to seek out paranormal experiences, and Britain’s
Fittest Barmaid
.

The broadband component at nuts.tv will allow viewers to be
involved with the content, as well as the chance to test their own ability to
present on live TV by becoming a guest presenter.

Dee Forbes, the senior VP and general manager at TBS UK,
commented: “We are delighted to be working with both IPC Media and ETV to have
developed what is a cutting-edge concept in television programming. With a
multiplatform launch and UGC strategy at heart, Nuts TV will bridge the current
gap in the TV marketplace. Male audiences are currently bombarded with
entertainment and information so we have taken great steps to ensure this is a
channel representative of their lives with content they will want to both
watch, and interact with.”
