True Blood & Hung Finales Deliver for HBO

NEW YORK: True Blood finished its sophomore season on HBO on Sunday with 5.1 million viewers at 9 p.m., more than double the season one finale, while Hung ended its debut outing as the premium cable network’s most watched freshman series. 

The second season of True Blood is currently averaging 12 million viewers per episode in gross audience, making it HBO’s most watched series ever behind only The Sopranos. The series has grown 54 percent in gross audience since last season. 

Hung has a current gross audience of 9 million viewers. The finale on Sunday at 10 p.m. averaged 2.9 million viewers. Entourage followed at 10:30 p.m., averaging 2.6 million viewers. The show, which has three more episodes, is averaging a gross audience of 8.4 million viewers per episode, making it the most watched season.
