Triple-Play Offering Drives RGU Gains at Comcast

PHILADELPHIA, October 26: Comcast Corporation’s triple-play
bundling of cable, high-speed Internet and telephony services helped drive
third quarter revenues up 22 percent to $6.4 billion, with an operating income
that was up 46 percent to $1.2 billion.

Announcing the results, Brian L. Roberts, the chairman and
CEO of Comcast Corporation, noted, "We're setting new records in the third
quarter, underscoring the strong momentum in our cable business. All our key
metrics are accelerating, including revenue and operating cash flow, as well as
RGU additions, which reached their highest quarterly level in our company's
history. Cable's outstanding results reflect both great execution and growing
demand for our Triple Play offering. Our strategy of bringing value to
consumers through a set of superior services is driving the business to new
levels of performance. We are confident that we will broaden our relationships
with our customers, strengthen our competitive advantage and accelerate our
operational and financial performance as we expand the availability of Triple
Play throughout our markets."

At Comcast Cable, revenues were up 12 percent to $6.6
billion. Revenue generating units (RGUs) increased 1.486 million. The platform
ended the quarter with 49.2 million RGUs, an increase of 4.3 million units from
one year ago. The company added 558,000 new digital subscribers in the period,
with digital penetration now above 50 percent. Video revenue increased 9
percent to $4.2 billion. Basic video subscribers increased by 10,000 to 24.1
million. Comcast ended the quarter with 12.1 million video subscribers taking
digital services, a 16 percent increase. Comcast added 536,000 high-speed
Internet subscribers in the quarter, ending the period with 11 million subscribers—a
24 percent penetration of available homes. For phone service, Comcast added
483,000 customers for a total of 2.1 million phone customers.

At the Content segment, consisting of E! Networks, The Golf
Channel, VERSUS (formerly OLN), G4 and AZN Television, revenues were up 9
percent to $258 million.
