NEW YORK: Roy Dvorkin has joined TransPerfect, which provides language services and technology solutions, in the role of VP of media and entertainment.

Dvorkin will be based in TransPerfect’s Los Angeles office. He will be expected to help the company continue to push its growth in the media and entertainment space, and to further its specialized suite of solutions for content creators and owners.

Dvorkin has more than 15 years of experience working closely with media and entertainment organizations to help them bring their content to multilingual audiences, including an 11-plus-year stint leading global sales at SDI Media in New York, London and Los Angeles. Dvorkin and his team oversaw key client relationships for SDI Media’s portfolio, which includes 20th Century Fox, Hasbro, HBO, LEGO, Paramount and Warner Bros.

“Joining a technology-focused organization with such a strong reputation for innovation and commitment to its clients is both exciting and energizing for me,” said Dvorkin. “The opportunity to build a specialized group within an already-successful company is appealing to me personally and professionally.”

Liz Elting, co-CEO of TransPerfect, remarked, “Roy has been a key player in working alongside studios and media organizations to encourage them to rethink how they approach content localization and delivery. We look forward to him bringing this spirit of collaboration and innovation to TransPerfect and adding a new perspective that benefits our internal teams and client relationships.”

“Media and entertainment companies have historically been fairly conservative in their approach to multilingual content delivery,” added TransPerfect co-CEO Phil Shawe. “Our goal is to disrupt and transform this space by combining industry knowledge with technology-based solutions that create cost-effective, nimble and broadly appealing strategies to reach consumers.”
