Total Drama Island Finds U.K. Home

HILVERSUM,
November 11: Jetix Europe has signed a deal with Cake Distribution to broadcast
the tween sitcom Total Drama Island on
its U.K. channel.

Created by Jennifer
Pertsch and Tom McGillis and produced by Fresh TV for TELETOON in Canada, Total Drama
Island
is an animated series that features an elimination competition, in the style
of reality programming.

Boel Ferguson, the
managing director for Jetix in the U.K. and Nordic regions, said: "We've
had fantastic ratings growth over the past ten months in the U.K. We're up 36
percent year-on-year and are now the second most-watched commercial pay-TV
channel amongst boys 4-to-9 years. We believe that the exciting, spoof
elimination format of Total Drama Island
is going to prove a big hit with kids in the U.K. and help us build even
further on this already significant growth."

Ed Galton,
the managing director of Cake Distribution, added: "We are delighted to
welcome Jetix as our U.K. partner on Total
Drama Island
. It is very exciting to share ideas with Jetix, who are
sharing and supporting our vision for the brand."
