SILVER SPRING: Discovery Networks International (DNI) has six new series in production for TLC International, spanning genres such as weddings, parenting and game shows.

From DNI’s newly created international production and development unit, the new programs features non-scripted and scripted entertainment, all focused on a core female demographic. The slate includes Don’t Tell the Bride, which premieres in Norway in Q1. Each episode follows an engaged couple as they are given the wedding of their dreams, but the groom has to organize all aspects and not tell the bride a thing. Premiering in Russia in the first quarter is Daughters vs. Mothers, a makeover show that gives mothers and daughters the chance to shake up each others looks.

In the second quarter of 2011, select markets will debut Money on the Menu, TLC’s first game show. Each episode sees unsuspecting delivery patrons receiving a special delivery of a mobile game show rather than their order. Happily Every Laughter is also set for select markets in Q2. The series features candid moments from bachelor and bachelorette parties, proposals, rehearsal dinners, weddings, receptions and honeymoons.

The third quarter marks the launch of series such as My Secret Body, headed to select markets. The show charts the journey of an individual who is struggling with hiding an embarrassing secret about their body. With the help of a therapist, these individuals will share their secret with family and friends to come to terms with their body issue. World’s Worst Mom, also launching in select markets in Q3, features family interventions. The series is led by Lenore Skenazy, who made headlines in April 2008 when she let her 9-year-old son travel the New York subway alone. Skenazy is now on a mission to help kids who are being smothered by their overprotective parents.
