Tigress to Produce Nigel Marvin’s Shark Island for Five

BRISTOL, September 11:
Tigress Productions has been commissioned by Five to produce the new factual
series Nigel Marvin’s Shark Island
for broadcast later this year.

Nigel Marvin’s Shark
Island
follows the eponymous
presenter and naturalist as he explores the Cocos Island, a large uninhabited
island that is home to some of the greatest shark displays on the planet. The
series was filmed over the course of one month, during peak shark season, and
features underwater footage as well as exploration of the island and the
experience of living onboard a dive boat.

Five’s commissioning
editor for wildlife and factual acquisitions, Bethan Corney, said: “Nigel
Marven is a key face of wildlife on Five. Building on the success of Nigel’s Penguin
Week
, we are proud to be commissioning
more event weeks like Nigel Marven’s Shark Island. Tigress produces stylish, bold and entertaining
wildlife programming and Shark Island promises to be glossy, adventurous and fresh.”

The international rights
to the 5×45-minute and 1×30-minute series are held by Tigress’ parent company,
IMG.
