Third Season for In Treatment

NEW YORK: HBO’s critically acclaimed drama In Treatment has been renewed for a third season, due for broadcast next year, with Gabriel Byrne returning as Dr. Paul Weston.

Production on season three commences in early 2010, the premium cable network said. Michael Lombardo, the president of the programming group and West Coast operations at HBO, said the series is "synonymous with inspired writing and brilliant acting. This is the kind of show that could only flourish on HBO, and we’re proud to bring it back.”

Byrne was nominated for an Emmy and won a Golden Globe for his portrayal as Dr. Paul Weston. Additional cast members for season three will be announced as they are confirmed. Joining the show as executive producers are Anya Epstein and Danny Futterman. Returning executive producers on the show include Stephen Levinson, Mark Wahlberg and Hagai Levi. It is expected that Paris Barclay will return as an executive producer/director.
