NEW YORK: BBC America has picked up the exclusive basic-cable rights to all four seasons of Showtime’s acclaimed series The Tudors from CBS Television Distribution.

BBC America will begin airing the show in January, running an all-day marathon of seasons and two on January 16, with subsequent episodes Tuesdays at 10 p.m.

The show wrapped its fourth and final season this summer. It chronicled the turbulent years of King Henry VIII’s reign of England, including his relationships with Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn, as well as with Sir Thomas More, Cardinal Wolsey, head of the Catholic Church of England during its break with Rome, and Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk and Henry VIII’s closest friend.
