LOS ANGELES: Ahead of its October 10 launch, The Hub—the Discovery/Hasbro joint-venture kids’ channel—has announced new additions to its programming slate, including the acquisition of BBC Worldwide’s In the Night Garden.

In the Night Garden has enchanted preschoolers and their families across the world with its endearing characters and beautiful, vivid settings and imagery—all filmed in high-definition," said Neil Ross Russell, managing director of children’s global brands and licensed consumer products. "We’re thrilled to be part of The Hub’s inaugural lineup and for U.S. audiences to experience In the Night Garden.”

The channel, which will be available in 60 million homes at launch, has also acquired Dennis and Gnasher, produced for Beano Productions by Red Kite Entertainment and Sticky Pictures Production. This follows the announcement last week of two new original series, the live-action Pictureka! and the animated The Adventures of Chuck and Friends, both from Hasbro Studios.
