The History Channel Greenlights Five New Prime-Time Series

NEW YORK, March 28: The
History Channel has greenlit five new weekly series, currently in production,
for premiere in prime time this year and in 2008, with the topics ranging from
Alaskan survival techniques to prehistoric dinosaur clashes.

The five new series are
the 10-episode Ice Road Truckers, about
ice-road truckers that battle sub-zero temperatures and a thinning road beneath
their wheels; the 13-episode The Universe, which uses cutting-edge computer graphics to explore the Universe
and its mysteries; the 13-episode Tougher in Alaska, focusing on the guts and smarts it takes to
survive in Alaska’s tough environment; the 13-episode Human Weapon, which showcases a different quest each week for a
master of a martial-arts discipline; and the 10-episode Jurassic Fight Club, in which archaeologists uncover the battlefields
of prehistoric beasts that walked the earth millions of years ago.

Additionally, History.com
will showcase each new series with exclusive destination mini-sites featuring
dynamic interactive broadband and short form content, games, video logs,
timelines, and much more.
