The Borgias Heads to Switzerland

MUNICH: SevenOne International has sold the U.S. Showtime series The Borgias, featuring Jeremy Irons, to the Swiss free-TV channel 3+.

The Borgias, from Academy Award-winner Neil Jordan, is set in 15th-century Italy at the height of the Renaissance. It chronicles the corrupt rise of Rodrigo Borgia (Jeremy Irons) to the papacy, where he commits every sin in the book to retain power, influence and wealth.

Bodo Braun, the sales director of German-speaking countries and Turkey at SevenOne International, said, "This is an exciting TV event produced in the U.S. with an A-list cast. We’re confident this fresh new series will fit in very well with 3+’s young profile."
