The Biography Channel to Launch in Germany

MUNICH, January 31: The Biography Channel will launch in
Germany on March 31 on Kabel
Deutschland and Kabel BW.

Negotiations
with other platforms are under way across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
There are also plans to distribute content via alternate distribution
platforms including mobile, VOD and broadband.

The Biography Channel is a collaborative venture between
A&E Television Networks (AETN) and NBC Universal Global Networks
Deutschland, who also jointly operate The History Channel Germany. The
Biography Channel will be broadcast in German. It is AETN’s second channel
brand in Germany, and brings NBC Universal’s portfolio of German-language
offerings to a total of four digital subscription channels and one free-to-air
network.
