TORONTO: DHX Media’s That’s So Weird! has been greenlit for third-season production for Canadian broadcaster YTV, which has just ordered a new 13-episode run.

The show was nominated for a Gemini Award and a Canadian Comedy Award in 2010, and currently airs on Boomerang in Latin America; Nickelodeon in Australia and New Zealand; and Canal Panda in Portugal.

The series mixes sitcom and sketch humor, and features an ensemble cast focused on an obscure, third-rate TV network and its outlandish employees.

Charles Bishop, the president of production and development at DHX Media, said: “That’s So Weird! is hitting the mark with its sketch comedy format and ensemble cast. We promise fans of the series even more of the madcap humor and off-the-wall sketches that made the first two seasons so popular.”
