Ten Sports Heads to Europe

MUMBAI, August 6: Spize
TV, a pan-European DTH platform for South Asian TV channels in Continental
Europe, has added Ten Sports to its lineup.

The new service includes
coverage of top international cricket series involving India, Pakistan, Sri
Lanka, Australia, South Africa, England and the West Indies. The premiere event
will be India’s tour of Sri Lanka in August, where India will play one Test
match and five one-day internationals.

U.K.-based Spize TV
packages Asian and niche content for DTH subscribers. It is owned by the
Dubai-based Taj Television Limited, with Indian entertainment group Pyramid
Saimira holding a majority stake in the company.

Chris McDonald, the CEO of
Taj Television Limited, said: “Ever since we launched Ten Sports, we have
received mails from fans across Europe asking for the channel. After six years
of our operations, we are pleased to finally launch our European service.
Judging from the number of queries we have had, Ten Sports is already a very well-established
brand in Europe, and we are happy that our viewers there can now watch the best
of cricket and other sport on Ten Sports.”

He continued: “In Spize
TV, we have a very strong partner, who has intelligent and aggressive plans to
reach the South Asian population throughout Europe.”
