teleSUR Scores Olympic Games Rights

LAUSANNE: Venezuelan broadcaster teleSUR has picked up the rights to air the London 2012 Olympic Games, as well as the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games and the Innsbruck 2012 Youth Olympic Winter Games, from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The outlet has acquired over-the-air television, cable television and radio broadcast rights in Venezuela. The broadcaster’s president, Andrés Izarra, commented, “Venezuela has significantly improved its performance in international sports competitions. Our national teams have gathered an audience like no time in our history. The National Public Broadcasting System, through teleSUR, wants to service the country and our athletes by bringing the Olympic events live to every home in the nation, and is proud of its top athletes.”
