Telescreen Sees Renewed Interest in Classic Series

territories since its 1989 debut, has generated new interest ahead of MIPTV,
with YLE2 in Finland renewing its rights to two seasons of 52 half-hour
episodes.

The show, about a little yellow duck and his adoptive
father, a mole, first launched in 1989 on VARA in the Netherlands, ZDF in
Germany and TV Tokyo in Japan. Thereafter it picked up slots in Belgium (VRT),
Austria (ORF), Italy (Canale 5), Spain (RTVE), Israel (IETV TV), the U.K.
(Channel 4), Hong Kong (TVB), Sweden (TV-1000) and Denmark (TV2), among others.
