Telemundo Creates New Digital Division

MIAMI, August 26:
Telemundo Communications Group is reorganizing its digital assets under a newly
created digital media and emerging business division, led by Peter Blacker as
the executive VP.

The new division will work
to leverage Telemundo and mun2 original programming through custom branded
entertainment, digital and mobile cross-platform solutions. It will also house
the network’s digital and mobile properties such as Yahoo! Telemundo,
holamun2.com, International Digital Media and Telemundo Emerging Platforms,
which also incorporates mobile and licensing and merchandising activities.

Blacker, who will report
to Jacqueline Hernández, the COO of Telemundo, will partner and advise the
local stations to help define, execute and implement digital media tactics and
revenue-driving strategies. Formerly the senior VP of digital media at the
Telemundo Network Group, Blacker has been responsible for the network’s
partnerships with Yahoo! Telemundo and iTunes on the launch of iTunes Latino.

"Research indicates
that Hispanics over-index on digital and mobile usage," said Hernández.
"Such findings, coupled with Telemundo’s unique original content
capabilities across all screens, provide the perfect formula for delivering a
comprehensive media strategy. Peter’s leadership in this space continues to
take Telemundo to the next level while further positioning the network as a
major industry player that can produce and distribute top-tier content on all
platforms to both our advertisers and audience."

Blacker added, “It is
exciting to be able to take Telemundo’s digital media offerings to the next
level. Our new organization will allow us to seamlessly harness the potential
of Telemundo’s original programming for audiences and advertisers across
platforms, devices and markets.”
