Telefe International, RCN Open Offices in Russia

CANNES, October 12: In an
effort to increase their presence in Russia, Argentina’s Telefe International
and Colombia’s RCN have opened offices in Moscow, both of which will be helmed
by Anastasia Korchagina.

Korchagina, who has a broad track record in Russian television, will work
with a team of professionals who will provide advice to clients purchasing products
from the wide catalogue available from both Telefe International and RCN.

Telefe International and RCN will also begin representing programs and
formats from companies around the world who wish to enter the Russian market.
Both companies are currently in advanced talks with stations and production
companies from Italy, Chile, Argentina and Colombia.

The first group of titles that have been licensed through the Russian
office are Montecristo and Detectives, Brothers & Co, from Telefe
International and Café con Aroma de Mujer from RCN.

“Being in Russia will allow us a closer vision of the needs of such a
competitive market,” pointed out Alejandro Parra, the director of the
international business area of Telefe. “The opening of offices is a strategic decision
that will enable Telefe to reach new territories and consolidate its presence
in the Asian and European continent.”

“Russia is a very important market for our products,” said María Lucía
Hernández, the international sales director of RCN. “Our presence there will
help us do a better job regarding format sales and an appropriate adaptation
and local production.”
