FremantleMedia Scores Deals on Japanese Format

CANNES, October 12:
FremantleMedia’s new Japanese format Hole in the Wall has picked up deals in Indonesia, Hong Kong,
Russia and Australia with Nine Network.

Announcing the deals, Rob
Clark, the senior executive VP of entertainment and production for worldwide
entertainment at FremantleMedia, noted: “This is a great format, a laugh out
loud comedy game show. Everyone who sees it ends up in stitches. Rather than
big prizes this show is physical comedy, played for laughs. This will be a
popular show and something people of all ages can enjoy.”

Clips of the hit Japanese
show have attracted more than 1 million hits on YouTube. In the series, two
teams of three compete against each other to make their bodies fit into a ‘hole
in the wall.’ The winners receive a cash prize, and the losers get pushed into
a pool full of water.
