Telefe Internacional Expands to Israel

BUENOS AIRES, July 1:
Argentine broadcaster Telefe’s international pay-TV channel has expanded to
Israel in a deal with cable platform HOT.

Telefe Internacional, which
celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, launched on HOT late last month.
Programming includes current affairs and talk shows, novelas, comedies and kids
fare from Telefe, as well as content developed specifically for the
international feed, like Resumen deportivo, Sport café and Especial
musical
.

Alejandro
Parra, the director of Telefe Internacional, commented: “Our arrival to Israel, this time through our sales
agent GALIM Productions, follows a process that started many years ago, with
the broadcast of our programs through the sale of content to different channels
and the promotion of Argentine artists and Telefe itself, which have had a very
warm welcome in this country. Following the same line, the release of our
signal Telefe Internacional is the last step that confirms our consolidation in
this market.”

Daniel Otaola, the sales
manager of the satellite signals area of Telefe, added: “The signal celebrates
its tenth anniversary in 2008. It is the first and only Argentine pay TV
channel for the rest of the world and we trust it will achieve the same success
in Israel as it did in Latin America, USA, Oceania and Europe.”
