Sweden’s SVT Picks Up Aisling’s Summer Diary

NEW YORK: CR Entertainment has sold the second season of the hit RTÉ series Aisling’s Diary to Swedish broadcaster SVT.

The second season, titled Aisling’s Summer Diary, was commissioned by RTÉ following a strong run from season one in 2008. The show is Ireland’s first cross-media teen series. The property is also available for mobile and Internet, and an Aisling’s Diary book is being sold by Penguin Books.

Series producer Triona Campbell commented: “We are delighted with the continuing international success of this Irish teen series with sales to SVT, ABC3 in Australia and a format sale to mioTV in the U.S. Sales such as this really prove that there is an appetite for Irish live-action teen drama both in Ireland and internationally.”

Enterprise Ireland’s head of software, Jennifer Condon, said: “CR Entertainment is a prime example of Ireland’s dynamic animation and digital media sector which continues to grow both in size and in global reputation. International successes such as CR Entertainment’s Aisling’s Summer Diary are not only indicative of the international appetite for Irish-produced content but they also help raise awareness of the quality of Ireland’s digital media entertainment sector.”
