Survey Says KI.KA is Germany’s “Best Children’s Channel”

ERFURT, February 15: According to a recent survey by Icon
Kids & Youth and PSYMA, KI.KA, owned by German pubcasters ARD and ZDF, is
Germany’s “best children’s channel,” with a brand awareness of more than 90
percent among the region’s parents and children, and 23 percent of children
naming it as their favorite TV channel, ahead of Super RTL (22 percent) and
Nickelodeon (8 percent).

The survey also found that 52 percent of all questioned
children aged 6 to 13 said that “they can learn and laugh when watching KI.KA.”
Meanwhile, 88 percent of all questioned parents of preschoolers were pleased
that KI.KA showed no violence, 62 percent of those parents approved of the fact
that KI.KA does not air any commercials, and 70 percent view KI.KA as a channel
that they enjoy watching with their children. Eighty-six percent of parents
also believe that KI.KA “offers something to learn” and 83 percent say that
KI.KA “inspires the children’s imagination.”
