Sumner Redstone Removes Philippe Dauman from Viacom Board

NEW YORK: Sumner Redstone has removed five members from the Viacom board, including CEO Philippe Dauman.

Along with Dauman, George Abrams, Blythe McGarvie, Frederic Salerno and William Schwartz have been fired from the board. The new Viacom directors are Kenneth Lerer, a managing partner at Lerer Hippeau Ventures and the chairman of Buzzfeed; Thomas May, chairman of Eversource Energy; Judith McHale, the president and CEO of Cane Investments; Ronald Nelson, the executive chairman of the board of Avis Budget Group; and Nicole Seligman, who until March 2016 served as the president of Sony Entertainment.

Thomas E. Dooley, COO and director; Cristiana Falcone Sorrell, director; Deborah Norville, director; Charles E. Phillips, Jr., director; Shari Redstone, non-executive vice chair; and Redstone, founder and chairman emeritus, all remain on the board.
