Studio100 to Offer 3D Updates of Classic Brands

MUNICH: Studio100 Media‘s catalogue of offerings for MIPTV includes the new 3D-animated versions of Vicky the Viking, Maya the Bee and Heidi, among other titles.

Maya the Bee was presented in 3D at MIPCOM 2009 for the first time. The 78×11-minute series, aimed at kids 2 to 6, follows the curious little Maya and her best friend Willy, who are always ready to discover new adventures. The new 3D version of Vicky the Viking, with 78 11-minute episodes in production, is aimed at 5- to 9-year-olds. Vicky continues to help the vikings of his little village out of delicate situations by using his head. For 8- to 12-year-olds, Enyo is set in a prehistoric background. The 26×24-minute series is slated to begin airing in Germany on Ki.Ka in late 2010.

Further Studio100 offerings include Florrie’s Dragon, an animated series that centers on a little princess and her best friend who is a bubble-blowing dragon; Amika, a soap for 8- to 14-year-olds; and Kerwhizz, a quiz show in which three animated teams compete to win extras for their racing cars. The 3D-animated series Zeke’s Pad is aimed at the 8-to-12 set. The show has been airing on Ki.Ka since January. There’s also Big & Small, about two best friends who are different sizes and have completely different qualities, and Titipangpangrescue, set in a town where everything is made of paper. The Studio100 and Nickelodeon joint venture House of Anubis began airing on Nickelodeon in Germany in late September 2009 and has a second Germany-language season in production.
