Studio100 Inks Comarex Deal for Latin America

CANNES, October 10:
Studio100 Media, the newly formed subsidiary of Belgium’s Studio100, has
entered into an exclusive deal with Latin American distributor Comarex.

The arrangement gives
Comarex the exclusive Latin American TV, format, theatrical, home video,
merchandising and publishing rights to the Studio100 catalogue. Comarex has
also secured non-exclusive rights to Studio100’s Spanish-language programming
to be distributed in the U.S. Some of the key titles from the existing
catalogue include Bumba The Clown, The House of Anubis, Spring and Mega Mindy, as well as new projects.

Announcing the deal at
MIPCOM, Patrick Elmendorff, the general manager of Studio100 Media, noted: “I
have worked with Marcel Vinay and Comarex for many years and am delighted to
continue this long standing and successful relationship. Comarex is the perfect
partner to extend our reach into Latin America and we are confident that our
kids’ programming will entertain and educate these young audiences as it has
done in other international territories.”

Comarex CEO Marcel Vinay
added: “We are very happy to once again continue our flourishing partnership
with Patrick Elmendorff. I have seldom seen a company of this size that has
perfect vertical integration offering production, distribution, theatrical,
licensing and merchandising rights through to theatre and theme parks. We look
forward to a long-lasting relationship and wish Studio100 Media a prosperous
future“.

Studio100 Media is at
MIPCOM for the first time. Helmed by former EM.Entertainment chief Patrick
Elmendorff, it is positioning itself as an international distribution and
production outfit offering a global approach to marketing ancillary rights from
merchandising and licensing to home entertainment and theatrical rights. The
company will also acquire and develop new content, engage in co-production and
co-financing activities as well as handle the international distribution for
Studio100 and third parties.
