LOS ANGELES: The U.K. indie Betty has signed a production partnership deal that will see its scripted and non-scripted formats being produced with Studio Lambert in the U.S.

Betty is behind the TLC hit Freaky Eaters and currently has several new formatted shows airing in the U.K., including Beauty and the Beast, soon to launch on Channel 4. Studio Lambert is behind the CBS reality hit Undercover Boss, Mel B: It’s a Scary World, Southern Fried Stings and The Fairy Jobmother. The company will work with Betty and add to its existing slate.

“We are committed to bringing some of the most successful and daring formats in the U.K. to the states,” said Studio Lambert’s CEO, Stephen Lambert. “Liz and her business partner, Walter Iuzzolino, are two of the most creative people working in British television right now and Eli and I look forward to working with them on producing their shows for American audiences.”

“Our format business has really taken off in the last year, added Betty’s CEO, Liz Warner. We felt it was time to find the right U.S. partner. I’ve known Stephen Lambert for many years and have been hugely impressed by his track record in taking U.K. formats like Wife Swap and Undercover Boss and making them into big hits. Partnering with his company was our first choice.”
