Steve Mosko Upped at Sony Pictures Television, Sales Teams Reorganized

CULVER CITY: Steve Mosko has been elevated to chairman of Sony Pictures Television, while new territory leaders have been put in place across the company's distribution business.

Mosko was previously the president of Sony Pictures Television. He will continue to oversee all television operations for Sony Pictures Entertainment worldwide, reporting to Michael Lynton, the CEO of Sony Entertainment.

“Under Steve’s leadership, Sony Pictures Television has become the industry’s largest independent television studio,” said Lynton. “Our media networks business has expanded to over 150 channel feeds around the world and the company is well-positioned for growth in both production and distribution. Steve is a remarkable executive and we are proud to have him at the helm of Sony Pictures Television.”

Mosko added, “I am honored to be named chairman, and grateful to Michael, my colleagues at Sony Pictures, and to the incredible team at Sony Pictures Television, whose hard work and dedication has built the successful global business we have today.”

Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Television made several appointments within its international distribution business. Mike Wald, the executive VP of international distribution, will return from London to Los Angeles and oversee the distribution and strategic management of Sony Pictures Entertainment's feature films and TV series to international free TV, basic cable, subscription pay TV and new-media platforms, look at global opportunities and partnerships, and head up SPT's distribution across the Asia Pacific.

Angel Orengo, the executive VP of international distribution for EMEA, will move from Hong Kong, where he oversaw the Asia-Pacific territory, and will now be based in the company’s London office. He will lead SPT’s EMEA team as executive vice president of international distribution.

Alexander Marin, the executive VP of international distribution in Latin America and the Caribbean, will now also oversee Canada.

All three report to Keith LeGoy, the president of international distribution.

Additionally, Robert Lanier was appointed senior VP of international distribution for the Asia Pacific, covering Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Lanier will work out of the company’s Sydney office and report to Wald, as will Ken Lo, the senior VP of international distribution for the Asia Pacific, overseeing SPT’s distribution in China, India, Korea and Southeast Asia, and based in Hong Kong.

LeGoy said: “All of these executives are amazing and talented leaders who have established excellent relationships across multiple territories. They are astute at responding to the specific needs of clients, while understanding the quickly evolving content marketplace around the world. These appointments not only allow them to bring their learning and expertise to different markets, but also underscore our commitment to developing and providing opportunities for our executives who excel.”
