BEVERLY HILLS: Starz Entertainment has given a ten-episode order to Magic City, a new series from Mitch Glazer that is set in a Miami hotel in the early 1960s.

Written and produced by Glazer and exec-produced by Geyer Kosinski and Tony To, the show is set to premiere on the premium network in 2012. It focuses on the Miramar Hotel and its leader, Ike Evans, who, at the down of the ’60s, must contend with the Mob, his complicated family and the social changes taking place in Miami as Fidel Castro takes control in neighboring Cuba.

"Mitch has created a world populated with unforgettable characters and with a big, dynamic story," said Chris Albrecht, president and CEO of Starz, LLC. "The talented creative team that has come together for Magic City will ensure a show that we think audiences won’t want to miss."

Magic City joins an original series slate that already includes the upcoming Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, Camelot and Torchwood: The New World.
