STAR Rolls Out Farsi-Language Channel

HONG KONG, December 23: STAR is
targeting Farsi-language speakers with a new general-entertainment service
scheduled to launch early next year.

The channel will feature programming from across the world
and will target the 100 million-plus speakers of the Farsi language, also known
as Persian. Farsi is the official language of Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

A sales and marketing office will be established for the
channel in Dubai, where STAR has had a presence since 1994. The company offers
a bouquet of 15 channels in the Middle East.
